Discover the distinctive character of Mount Etna with Sciare Vive Etna Rosso 2019 from Vigneti Vecchio. Crafted primarily from Nerello Mascalese with a touch of native white varieties including Carricante, Minnella, Grecanico, and Inzolia, this wine captures the freshness and minerality of its volcanic homeland.
Sourced from century-old vines in the vineyards of Verzella, the grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts, undergoing 12–13 days of gentle maceration on the skins. The wine is then aged in used 500-liter oak barrels and briefly in stainless steel, allowing its natural aromas and textures to shine without fining or filtration. With only 3,000 bottles produced, it reflects the artisan care and precision of this boutique Etna winery.
In the glass, Sciare Vive shows a light ruby red color and releases a captivating bouquet of red berries, balsamic notes, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is fresh, savory, and remarkably drinkable, balancing elegance and vitality with the signature minerality of Mount Etna soils.

Viticulture: Sustainable
Vinification: Produced from the vineyards of Verzella, the grapes, harvested in the second decade of October, are destemmed and the must is left to macerate on the skins for 12-13 days with spontaneous fermentation by indigenous yeasts. Fermentation is completed in 4hl Tonneaux for six months without racking
Ageing: Transferred to stainless steel for a short period until bottling, followed by further ageing
